What are the benefits of this add-on?

Folic acid is recommended before and during pregnancy; NHS guidance also states that if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, you should take a 10 μg vitamin D supplement daily. Folic acid is a supplemental form of a B vitamin called folate, which our body uses to make new cells. This vitamin works hard to support the rapid cell growth that occurs during early tissue development and organs in the first weeks of pregnancy. Supplementary intake of folic acid increases the mother’s folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus.
