The Nordic Naturals brand started in Norway, where its founder Joar Opheim grew up. When he traveled to California to complete his degree, he discovered that the renowned Norwegian fish oil he had relied on for years was nowhere to be found. The only thing he found didn't even taste good, it didn't have the necessary concentration or responsible quality. Therefore, he decided to bring the best quality Norwegian oil with him to California, where it also found its way to his friends. The circle of interested parties gradually grew, and therefore in 1995 he founded his own company.
